THE Savura Rugby Club received a timely boost with a gift of $1000 from Wesram Finance to help the team acquire uniforms for the Suva Rugby Union club competition set to commence next month.

The club’s manager Sakeasi Talevakarua said they were grateful for the sponsorship as they looked forward to the start of the season.

“We are very grateful to Wesram for their sponsorship. This is a morale booster for the boys since our rugby season starts next month,” he said.

The club had last year advanced to the Premier Grade and will play their first game in the division next month.

Wesram Finance manager Ashwini Singh said this was not the first time the company had provided sponsorship for small organisations.

“They came on board and are fresh faces to the premiership division and they would like to go on to becoming a much stronger team so we had agreed to provide the sponsorship and hope that it will boost them in their efforts,” he said.

Notable players that started out from the club include Akapusi Qera and Manasa Saulo.
